Phyllis - If you don't come back Space A, I still would like to hear about your cruise.

How you rated the ship, ports visited, and my most favorite activity, the food.

If I remember right, you have made several trips on this ship. So it must be rated pretty high by you.

Enjoy and have a extra lobster tail for me.

Tom, I'll do a report, but not sure any space A will involved. I have been keep a record of the flights back from MHZ, and there have been several the last two month. The swampy with "The Crystal Ball" says nothing coming back till about a week after we want to leave to come home. If this hold true, we will use buddy passes on American, it would be cheaper than the extra days in the UK.

Hey everyone,
We are in Naples after an 18 transatlantic cruise. WOW!!!!! It was great. Our daughter and husband actually found us in Port of Rome.
The cruise was wonderful. We had a great time and of course, met some wonderful people. There were lots of retired military enjoying the "good life."

I guess you guys/ladies know that a trip report on the cruise is a must when you return for us non-Transatlantic cruisers.

How you like it, cruise line, ship's name, ports, dining, cabins, destination and how you returned (space-a or commerical).

I hope eveyone has a great time. I look forward to reading about your adventures.

Roger,

Sent you an email about the Lisbon cruise on the 26. We are considering this instead of Space A, as we need to be in Paris on May 10. Just received an email from Princess today with great prices. We'd miss the Space A adventure on the way over, but would hope to return courtesy of the AMC.

Eileen -- We just got off the Mariner of the Seas and several passengers we met will be on the Singapore/Dubai/Rome back-to-back cruises. Sounds like a wonderful itinerary and pretty perfect for Space-A'ers for a "round the world" trip. Wish we could go with you.

Have a great trip!!

Carol, one thing I never leave home without is a RX for the med's need if you get a bladder infection. Also this next time I am going to see if our doctor will write each of us an RX for the Z pack, "just in case." Some good friends came back last fall and said so many folks on the ship were sick with colds that they were afraid they would get it. I just want to be ready. Also I always travel with the little travel size of Charmai and hand cleaner.

We are packing our suitcases and trying to think of everything which must be done before leaving town Saturday, March 14th.
We are booked on Holland America, Oosterdam from Ft. Lauderdale to Rome, April 1st.
We have our cabin assignment of #6025. Anyone else booked on HAL that date? We will have our red bandanas on our carryon baggage.
After arriving in Civitivecchia, April 1st, we will be in Naples with daughter and son-in-law. They both work at Capo, he is in terminal. We are signed up for Space A from every European terminal but planning on picking up the Patriot Express on to Souda Bay April 8th, and then spending the night and catching it back to Naples, Lajes, and Norfolk April 9-10th. We should be driving home in a rental Good Friday.
This will be a first long term sailing for us.
Wish us well!

You might even get your initial meet-up posted in the ship's Plan of the Day, because not everyone reads the bulletin boards.

David, what we have done in the past on the cruise, was to find a bar, that was not busy, pick a time, than stop at the pursers desk. They will have a post card type note you can put up on a board by their desk, with time place and just list it as SPATS get together. We had about 25 folks show up for the first one. Than one evening, we meet up in the Lido area for dinner. It was great fun, hope you have a good time.

Another SPAT and wife (Micky) on the Independence of the Seas leaving Ft Lauderdale on 4/12 for Southampton. We should try to get together sometime during the cruise. Send a message off line if interested. On our last Spring TA, we had four SPAT couples on the Navigator of the Seas that got together.

We have been tracking Mildenhall and Ramstein and Ramstein sure looks a lot better. We are planning for a few days in Europe, but do not to spend a week waiting in Mildenhall, so may opt to got directly to Ramstein.

Those are just a few of the fantastic trans-Atlantic cruise deals you can see on this wonderful website that a member here told us about sometime last year:

http://www.cruisehotsheet.com/region_Transatlantic-0.htm

I saw rates ranging for inside cabins from $28.50 pp/per day, all on "name brand" cruise lines!

If you click on the "Info" box at the right of each line, you'll be transferred to the Vacations to Go website and details on the itinerary. There's no requirement to buy your cruise from them, but many people here have used them and report good results. I suspect most travel agencies can offer the same rates, and some might have extra sweeteners so call around if interested. (I don't know if military discounts can be applied to these open-to-the-public rates--ask the agent!)
