Tommy, are you aware of the free shuttle from Heathrow to Mildenhaul. Operates twice a day, once at 10AM and once at 12:30PM. Worked great on our trip last year. We are heading directly to Mildenhaul on the 25th. We can do some sightseeing there if we can't get out quickly. The rate sounds great on the car. If we can't get out, we will rent a car.

Any others on the Independence of the Seas Transatlantic leaving Fort Lauderdale on April 11?

David

David...Just went on the Enterprise.com rental car site and got a great rate on a small car at Mildenhall - About 90 pounds for 29 April to 4 May. So, we'll go to London from South Hampton and stay three days then go to Mildenhall. We'll be trying to get a hop out of there to head home starting the 4th.

Tommy,

Definitely. Last year there were about 10 or so retirees got together one day for some war stories. However, during the bus from Heathrow to Mildenhall we met about 10 more. Seems there are a lot of SPAT cruisers that do not use Pepperd. Also, quite a few that have not heard of Cruise Critic. It is the pepperd of cruising. www.cruisecritic.com There is a thread for each cruise. Plus Royal Caribbean puts on a gathering during the cruise. There are about 120 signed on the the thread at this point. Let's touch base closer in. David

David,

I'd love to meet up with you on the ship. Perhaps we can arrange that.

I was looking at the National Bus to Victoria as my ground transportation, but that is tentative.

We plan to spend a few days in London before heading to Mildenhall since my wife has never been there, then take the shuttle to Mildenhall for a few days there before trying to work our way back to Tennessee.

Yes. We booked about 2 weeks ago. We did the Eastbound TA on the Independence last year and loved it. We will be in a Balcony. Are you familiar with the shuttle from Heathrow to Mildenhall and Lakenheath? Also, we have a private vehicle for transportation from the port to Heathrow on arrival day. Any interest in that? Last year, we have great luck getting home with a flight to Ramstein the next day with less than 24 hours in Ramstein and directly into Charleston our home base. We arrived at Mildenhall Saturday afternoon and were home on Monday for dinner. This is our 6th TA.

My wife Sue and I have just booked our tickets on

Vacationstogo.com for fast deal #13892

14 nights departing Ft. Lauderdale on April 11, 2010 on Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas to Southampton, England for $549 inside cabin for 55+.

That way we can visit London then head up to Mildenhall for a few days then Space-A home (or somewhere close to home.)

Anyone else looking at this cruise?
