We have been to Nassau a few times. The Atlantis is fabulous. But expensive. If you like the ocean though I recommned Stuart's Cove. The filmed Flipper there. There are hotels where you can get your hair braided ,we had lunch in a Gazebo overlooking the pool and ocean. To explore try a Jitney. Van/buses that travel all over. Cheap and you are with locals. Snorkling is great too. Remember to get to Atlantis you have to cross the bridge from Nassau to Pradise Island.Jitnes can't cross the bridge. We walked the shopping then taxi to Atlantis, buffet lunch then explored the aquarium etc. fun interesting and a great place to visit. |

The big hotel is The Atlantis. A multi-building hotel with a huge water park/pool facilities. If you are on a cruise, you can pay a LOT of money to use the hotel's pools for the day. If you are planning a vacation there, I recommend you stay at the Comfort Suites right next door(which includes the free breakfast in the mornings). By staying here, you can use the Atlantis facilities: they will give you free passes when you check in, and you can use the Atlantis' pool from opening to closing. GREAT DEAL! The price difference between the two hotels is huge; yet the rooms are about the same... both with a cheesy island decor. On a trip with my husband, I stayed at the Atlantis. It was such a great place for children that a year later we went back with our three boys, but stayed at the Comfort Suites. NOTE: Many of those arriving on a cruise ship pay for a night at the Comfort Suite just to get entrance to the Atlantis; it is cheaper than buying the tickets for the day tour. |

Well the way we went was by the local boat system, you can also take a cab. Don't know if you are going to be on a cruise ship or just flying down to the island. If you are on a cruise ship they will offer a tour for $$$. You can do about the same thing on you own by the two ways I mentioned. The BIG hotel is the about the only thing on Paradise Island. There are some private homes, and the boat will tell you lives where on the ride over. Many little shps once you arrive at the hotel, of course there is the casino, places to eat and the Aquamrium. You can see parts of the aquarmrium with out being a hotel quest or on a paid tour, but not all of it. If you take the boat over, you will have a little walk, not bad to the main area of the resort. You buy your tickets in the transportation building at the end of the dock where you will see the cruise ships. This is also where the horse and carriage rides and cabs will be. |

Paradise Island? What is it? How does one get there? What else is there to see? To visit? |
