Thanks for your insight on Normandy. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale this evening and will board the Star Princess tomorrow. The last time we were in Normandy the weather was absolutely miserable with high winds and rain. This time we'll sit at an outdoor cafe with a glass of red wine with our lunch and soak up the sun.

Got the same mini-suite upgrade offer from Princess for the Baltic in June. Quite tempting. I remember Princess' Normandy trip. Thought it was well worth the expense. Plenty of time at the beaches and they pick a nice place for lunch. Good wine selection and plenty of it.

We've been to all the ports before and we too have figured it out that you can save a great deal by arranging some excursions yourself on site. Although we've been to Normandy before we are taking their excursion. A high note is we were informed today that we've been upgraded to a full suite complete with wet bar and walk-in closet from a mini-suite.

Not going on this one, but have taken it in the past. Wife and I had a great time. Most stops have plenty to do without shelling out for the cruise's excursions. Only exception was the Normandy Beach trip--nothing in Le Havre and I didn't trust my knowledge of French language or train schedules.

By chance if anyone is cruising on the Star Princess departing Fort Lauderdale on 24 April for the Azores, the western coast of Europe, winding up in Russia look us up. We'll be disembarking in Copenhagen and flying down to Ramstein for a flight home.
