Sandy, Weather was very pleasant. Not hot. Sorry, can't remember temperature range, but we did not freeze going to and from the hot tub. We did have some (very) slightly rough seas about halfway across, and you do lose computer access and TV for a couple of days. So if you have people expecting an email from you every day, let them know in advance. We took the Acer netbook, and had the computer use as an upgrade for being platinum with Princess. But if we hadn't had it for free, it would have been annoying as it sometimes took a long time to connect wasting lots of minutes. Didn't use a phone, but think they worked fine the whole time. We'll be wishing we were on board on May 1, but we're just doing some local trips until they can figure out how to fix my husband's back!! Ann |

Richard, We know what to expect on land, but what were temperatures like out on the ocean during April/May last year. Thanks |

In discussing my forthcoming cruise with a rep from USAA travel/cruise desk I was told that all cruise lines under the Carnival umbrella incl Princess & others have recently raised prices; maybe one shouldn't hope prices decrease. |

We got ours for $599 from Vacations to Go web site and it still shows that price. We are hoping to get upgraded to at least a window, but at that price, won't be disappointed if we don't. To those who are going on this cruise: Lets Get Together? Ray |

Hi Ray, We just booked that cruise. Rather than go all the way to Rome, we plan to disembark the ship at Pisa (Florence) and visit Luca, the Cinque Terre and perhaps Orvieto. From there back to Naples to catch a flight to Norfolk, or to Venice to get one to BWI - whatever looks best at the time. |

Actually, I just checked the Princess website today, and the interior price has gone up $200, from $599 to $799, the others also up. Another booking site still has the cheaper price, but a few weeks ago, when I thought we might really be able to get away, I emailed them after filling out all the info, and nobody called or emailed me back. So I figured I would just book at the Princess site. Just bummed that we can't do this. But I'm happy we had a fabulous trip last year, so can't complain. If we could have gone, I'd have grabbed the $599 (plus $55 fees) on the Princess site for the last few weeks.) We were upgraded to a balcony last time, and for this trip, the balcony would be even better as you have more ports. Do it!!!! I would guess it won't go lower. But I'm no expert. Ann |

Ray and Ann, We are thinking about that very cruise. We were hoping the price would drop even more. What do you think? Take a chance and wait, or go for it now? |

That is a great cruise! We were hoping we would be able to do exactly what you are planning, with a trip to the Cinque Terre and on to a place in Switzerland, but my husband has a couple of appointments he could not put off. We took the Crown Princess from Ft. Lauderdale to Lisbon last April/May, and really had a great time. After exploring Portugal, we went on to Paris and Rome, took the train to Naples and caught the Patriot Express to Souda Bay for a couple of days in Crete, then caught the Patriot Express back to Norfolk via Naples and Lajes. Have a great cruise! Ann |

We are staying one night in Rome, taking the train to Venice and spending one night there before going to Aviano AFB on May 17th where we hope to get a space A flight back to the US east coast. Newly retired and first time space a travelers. |
