Hi Phil, Leta and I are planning a trip to Crete eather befor or after the S&S. I am going to try for a AFVC unit or will just go out and find our own place. I was stationed at Iraklion AFS for 3 years so I know my way around Crete. We are looking forward to the trip.

Phil, that works for us as we intend to hang around Europe for a while after S&S. David

Great idea Phil! If the Euro keeps falling our dollars will go a lot further than at the S&S 2009.

To help those attendees who are expecting to PatEx out of Sigonella immediately after the S&S, I have a thought. How about an apres S&S trip that did not involve the PatEx? Such a trip would relieve some of the load on the flight that occurs right after the S&S.

A trip to Malta that would put you back in time for the next flight or a trip to Souda Bay that would get you on the PatEx there.

Or even an extended road trip to the other end of the island and back. There are a lot of interesting cities/towns/villages that take more than a day to see.

Just a thought.

Getting back to Norfolk from Souda is more likely than from Naples. Last year we did a cruise and ended up in Naples to visit out daughter. To insure getting to Norfolk we caught the Patex in Naples to souda and then caught it back to Napels and on to Norfolk.

There is an excellent chance of getting on the PatEx back to Norfolk out of Souda. Sandi and I did that after the S&S in 2007. So we would not be adverse to going to Souda again after the Sigonella S&S also.

Phil:

We are defintely going to consider Malta but at this time don't know when we will go. Also,we would like to go to Souda Bay either before or after the S&S.

Anyone else interested in Malta add your comments & maybe we can get the ITT office to set up a tour for us.
