Phillip, we still have several folks who work, and I think this would be a bit long for them. Also making reservation and not being sure if you could get a flight could get pricey.

I don't know if anyone has considered a Mediteranean cruise, there are some pretty good prices and the ports of call can allow the passengers to see many of the monumnental Med sites.

I'd like to do a SPATs cruise from San Diego to the Mexican Riviera, or at least Cabo Wabo.

1. Although I have not booked with them, www.absea.com has military discounts on all the cruise lines that offer them. Their prices seem to be pretty good.

2. I have used www.crucon.com to book a cruise and they claim to match competitors price plus will give you shipboard credit.

3. We booked our last (transatlantic) cruise with Marie at Online Vacation Center. Well satisfied with the price-Celebrity Constellation 12 night cruise plus 2 nights in London, all transfers, breakfasts, etc for well under $100/day for an oceanview cabin.

Check out Cruise Value Center (they have a general website that's worth looking at, but you must then call 1-800-231-7447 to talk with a person to get specific fare quotations). In the past they have beaten all other quoted fares I had found by a substantial figure (in the 4%-5% range).
Be sure to tell them that PRICE is your main consideration when deciding whom to book with, and also ask for any additional discounts such as military or past-cruise passenger membership status.

All these suggestion sound great. A picnic in Norfolk and then a cruise for those who can do that too. After our first cruise, I was trying to figure out how to cruise to Indiana and Colorado (where family live.) After 4-5 days on a ship being pampered, couldn't think of a car road trip.
Next year we want to do a repositioning cruise to Europe. We would like to know who to contact for information about those cruises?
We love to travel...cruise ship or Space A flying is just wonderful!

Ed, I would think that if this what we all want to do next year the Patrick ITT office could do it. I use Vacation to go, American Air Lines travel and the cruise line themself, who ever has the best price and deal.

Phyllis: I have never dealt with any of the ITT folks in this area, only those at Patrick when we wanted to go to Antigua. Have only sked cruises with CI Travel & AAA here in Va Bch.

I think a cruise out of Norfolk would be good. It is much easier to fly into and lots of rooms to stay. I for one would like the 6/7 day cruise, but do realize some folks are not in favor of being gone that long for different reasons. Do you know any of the folks in the ITT offices?

While there is some discussion abt where to have a '08 SPATS cruise in the trip rept section I submit the following info abt Norfolk using the '07 cruise sked as an example. Not sure whether the entire '08 sked has been firmed up at this time. Norfolk just finished a $35M cruise terminal which is amongst the finest, Carnival had 4 cruises this year, 2 6 day cruises to the Bahamas starting @$649/person & 2 2 day cruises to nowhere @ $299. Royal Carib's Empress of the Seas will make 14 cruises to Bermuda starting @$664; 5, 6, 7, & 8 day affairs including 2 May 19 & May 26. Lots of small print abt taxes, fees, gratuities, etc, too lengthy to be included here. I suspect the sked for '08 will be similiar.
