Kristy, I would check vacationtogo.com to see what price they have. There are many sites to use to get a feel for the price. I book with the cruise line, than keep checking their site as the time get near for any price difference. If you use a travel agent, and find it cheaper from someone else, you call the person who list it cheaper, get a quote, than call the ship line and tell them you want to change agents. I just like doing it myself, I think it is a control thing with me.

I'm looking for a cruise that my family could take during December/Jan this year from CA to Mexico. Does anyone know of good deals for non military and military families to travel together?

Thanks

During the month of May, Carnival Cruise Lines will offer Military guests special “Fun Ship” savings for friends and family of active and retired military personnel.

The special military discount is being extended to friends and family traveling with the military guest. This means guests can book as many as two additional staterooms at the same price as the military stateroom. Must book by May 31st, 2009. This offer is good for select cruises until April 30th, 2010.

To shop this deal go to

Me too, what Samuel said.

I had to fax a copy of my military ID and drivers license to Carnival and to Vacations-To-Go to get the military discount.

We just booked a cruise on carnival on the Spirit. To Leave Honolulu on April 24th. We did get a military discount. We had to fax over the proof of retirement to them. We were given a discount rate of $25.00 the already low price of $699.00 per person for 12 days. Had to had taxes to this, but came out to 1595.10 total for 2 of us. This includes insurance also.Always ask for retired military or active duty rates when calling all the cruise lines.

Carnival's Dream is a new ship and is the only Carnival in the Med, I believe. It owns Princess, which has a number of cruises in the Med. Carnival did have a military discount for a short period of time, but it has elapsed. Last I heard they were offering a $200.00 credit per stateroom. We deal directly with a Carnival rep and sends us the good deals.

I believe Carnival is the parent company of nine cruise lines now.

Hey Allan,

I looked at Vacations to Go and they still indicate military discounts. I think that Carnival may be limited in the Med area. Other areas seem to have "big" military discounts.

It may be just the location instead of Carnival.

I am sure that other member have comparable results or information. I would contact Carnival and ask them.

Not to worry, there ar eother cruise lines that will gladly welcome us during the current economic season. Probably Carnival will renege in time.

I'm of the impression Carnival has stopped military discounts on cruises. I can't find one on any of their Med cruises
