Most dance lessons on dry land could also use the muscular athletic male frame, a confident look in the eye, and a demeanor that adds energy to the evening's activities: seems that the ladies, often under 30, out number the men by 5 or 6 times or more at the dance lessons. |

Gene, I think we should just let that one fall of its own weight. In any event, you shouldn't ask, you know. |

Gene yes, the do dance. We have seen them on NCL and Holland American. They are in their late 60's and do all the dances from the 40's and the laddies love it. |

We always call these guys Frick & Frack. You can pick them out of a crowd. The white slacks and blue blazer is a dead give away. While they are allowed to dance with the laddies, from what I read, they best do nothing else. If they do, they will be put off the ship at the next port and getting home is their problem, from an article in the Dallas Morning News. |

We also met one of these men on a recent cruise. He actually went on a cruise himself not knowing about such a deal. He was such a friendly guy and he was such a good dancer, and got so many women out on the dance floor enjoying themselves, that the cruise line offered him some free cruises!! We also met a guy who has received several all expenses paid trips to Europe for hooking up with some corporate group and going to their offices in various European cities and talking with executives for 2-3 hours every afternoon to help them brush up on their English. |

Hey, Rob, I danced with one of those men on a cruise a couple of years ago. My husband wouldn't/doesn't know how to dance and my feet were itchy, so another woman "fixed me up" with one of the hosts. It was fun! |

CNN.com: Men who dance ladies around the world By Heidi Sarna (LifeWire) -- For older men who know the difference between a waltz and fox-trot, being a cruise ship host offers evenings in the dance floor spotlight and days in the ocean sunlight traveling to places they would have never seen otherwise... ...the cruise lines provide the hosts with free room and board, plus the entertainment and activities available to all guests. Some cruise lines throw in free airfare and a stipend for dry cleaning and buying drinks for passengers. To be hired, potential hosts must produce reference letters, agree to background checks, and take a test or send in a video as proof they are proficient in standard dances, including the mambo, rumba, cha-cha, tango and swing. On top of everything else, hosts are expected to be mannerly, friendly and reasonably fit, whether they're 40-somethings or pushing 75. |
