We sailed on the Monarch of the Sea (R/C) in early July this year. They did have a $10.00 per day per stateroom fuel surecharge.

Starting June 30, 2008, RCCL will be charging $10 per person per day for the 1st and 2nd guests in a cabin. Additional guests in the same cabin will pay $5 per person per day.

Have booked a Celebrity Solstice 7 day cruise on Nov. 30, and there is a $56 fuel surcharge, so would assume RCCL would do the same since they own Celebrity. OBTW, this is the 2nd Voyage of the Solstice and I got a Balcony Cat 2C for $749. Celebrity added 2 extra cruises, Nov 23 & 30 and the prices were way low when they added these trips. Origingal inaugural cruise was supposed to be Dec. 14th. Any else gonna be on this cruise?

Taking a Royal Caribbean cruise on the Mariner of the Seas on July 27th out of Port Canaveral Florida. Will let you know about the extra charges. By the way, any other SPAT doing that cruise?

Lee: we had to pay $35/person last of March on a Seabourn cruise; sign of the times.

All the other cruise lines I have seen adding such an "energy surcharge" are doing it PER DAY, per passenger.

I saw that Royal Caribbean Cruise lines are adding a $10 per passenger energy surcharge on top of your fees. I'm not sure if it's per day or for the cruise.
