Phyllis: Didn't do rock climbing nor roller blading when aboard the RC ship, altho we roller blade occasionally in our neighborhood. For the results of a poll of Conde Nast Traveler magazine readers, 80 of the world's best cruise ships by size, check out the Feb 2005 issue.

Thanks Ed. We have done Princess and like it too, and Holland as well. We are doing Alaska the end of August on Holland. I think they are more into we seasoned travers and not so much the rock climbing roller blading ones. Looking forward to the picnic in May, already have my place at Cape Henry.

Hi Phyllis: After 2 cruises on Princess we took an RC cruise on the Adventurer of the Seas out of San Juan I think it was in 2003. While the ship was good what with a shopping mall, a putt putt golf course, roller blade track, full size bb/volley ball court, ice skating rink & shows, several pools & hot tubs, multitudinous bars etc. we thought the food & service didn't compare with Princess, 3000 folks compared with 1950, maybe big is certainly not better. We just did a cruise on Holland/America in Jan from Norfolk & with the exception of lots of cold weather even past St Thomas the ship was good, only 1250 folks, but most of the pax came from very senior living establishments which made for lots of tales from the past. We are going back to Princess in late May/June to Alaska even tho both HA & RC do those cruises. Perhaps first impressions are the most lasting.

Ed, why don't you like RC? We have never been with that cruise line, and would like to know about, they all look good on the ads.

Jeff: Excellent prices indeed. R C is not my favorite cruise line tho, but at $70/day it certainly is worth a serious look see.

My wife and I are taking a repositioning cruise on MSC Lirica on May 2 for 17 days, ending up in Genoa, Italy. We have reservations at Camp Darby for a week then we will space-a it home.

For what it is worth, I got an email from a travel agency advertising two repositioning cruises that are really cheap. Cheaper than mine!

Royal Carribean from Ft. Lauderdale to Lisbon, April 10 for 10 nights--$699 ocean view.

Royal Carribbean from Tampa to Barcelona, April ? for 14 nights--$749 ocean view.

These are great deals if it suits your timing. Your travel agent probably has the details, I am not an agent and this is posted for your information.
