Hi Richard, I would ask the same question as Lee. I am not familiar with the Garmin 1350 but did go on line and it appears to be a great and newer model comparable to most other Garmin GPS's. It seems to have most Garmin features. I have an older model but it does warn me about street, turns, and POI's. I have used a friend's Nuvi 750 and was impressed. Are you sure that you have the volume turn on or turned up? My Garmin gives me advance notice at all turns and POI's and I assume the distance is based on speed. My Garmin says, "Destination is 300 feet on the right" or "turn in .8 miles to exit 89-on the right", etc. Does your Garmin talk to you on the road to give you directions to the destination or are you just watching the screen? Yours should be giving you messages and directions. This is just a "shot in the dark" about volume because I have turned mine down to talk to people. Good luck and let us know what you find out. I am interested in purchasing a newer model but want to know any problems and capabilities before I do. Happy Trails!! |

You mean you are following directions to a POI you have chosen? In that case it should give you a warning like "Lucky Lucy's House of Burgers 300 feet ahead on right". |

Can anyone hejp me figure out how to get the dang thing to send an alert when approaching a POI?? I'm not sure what to download or if I even can download something to make that happen. The FAQs and their solutions don't even address the problem--that I can see. Thanks |
