John, first, we would not address benefits for each service individually,. The benefit for the services is a larger, more supportive group that can address issues with our congress persons. It may not seem to be a great deal but every little bit helps. It is important to make our voices heard.

I have made it a practise to write my Representative and Senators regularly (that does not mean frequently). When I, personally, need assistance and contact their offices, I am recognized by the staff who screen the mail. And, I can attest to the results when I need their assistance. I am not a large contributor but I have done a little work during campaigns.

Yes, Cherry, I agree that our focus should be on improvements for all users. And, I agree that this site is a place that WE can blow off steam. My point being vent your personal feelings and thoughts here but take a different tack with the decision makers.

Don't you think we'd get better results and a more sympathetic hearing if we focus on improving the space-a experience for ALL users, not just retirees?

Anything -- like better communication -- that helps Cat VI's will also benefit other users at least as much. Let's face it -- active duty personnel and their families are more important nowadays than we retirees are -- and that's as it should be.

I'm curious how we would state the benefits each of the military services would derive from improving the Space-A experience for retirees. I'm not being sarcastic or combative...I'm genuinely curious.

Any suggested language?

I fully understand the desire for more information as to flight and intermediate stops enroute to final destination. I totally agree.

It is obvious that there is latitude on what and/or how to disseminate this information. Because there is this latitude, and because individuals who have the responsibility may interpret the instructions differently, particularly regarding security concerns, we will always find these discrepancies.

The tone of a number of posts conveys the thought that the services should give greater consideration, a high priority, to the imkpact on the retired community. I wont argue that but I suggest that when contacting responsible authority that suggestions (we retirees are not in position to recommend to those responsible) be couched in terms that emphasis first the benefits that the service will derive and then the positive impact for the retired community. A "me first" approach is pushing uphill.
