Ah- good to see it in print instead of only hearing it by word of mouth from the cashiers... I have no sense of size, so I wonder how the size of the new Comm/ PX compares to the old one? |

from Today's Army Times ******************************** Army to build new commissary in western Pa. The Associated Press Posted : Wednesday Apr 28, 2010 10:22:16 EDT CORAOPOLIS, Pa. — The Army has signed a lease to build a new commissary and post exchange on county-owned land west of Pittsburgh. The plans call for a 43,000-square-foot supermarket and a 10,000-square-foot department store on land in Moon Township, about 10 miles west of the city, that is owned by Allegheny County. County officials say construction should begin next fall and both stores should open in 2012. When that happens, the commissary and PX at the Charles E. Kelly Military Support Facility in Oakdale will close. The rest of the Kelly facility was closed by the Army last year. The commissary and PX serve about 170,000 active, retired and reserve military members and their families within a 100-mile radius. |
