There is another app for that called "Have2P". You can even rate the facilities. For those of us who cannot pass a restroom this is a useful app. |

For years now I have been encouraging my wife to write a book providing the location (GPS) coupled with pros and cons of every toilet on the globe seeing that she has, I'm sure, visited each and many, more than once. The publication of which could pay the cost of our travels. |

Dan: I was wondering if anyone would get my attempt at humor...(or maybe they were just politely ignoring me. lol!). Thanks for commenting. John |

John, are you advocating using Depends instead of a public wc? <grin> |

Larry: You are right about Bourbon Street bars. However, when it gets rowdy and crowded those folks just seem to find a convenient light pole. Get a block or so off Bourbon and you won't find that problem. As for Dago, the bars used to be so crowded that no one could tell who was a customer. |

I'm glad Cherry started this thread....gives me a chance to rant: San Diego is a fantastic city. One thing I don't like about it, though, is the fact that every fast food joint I visited kept their toilets locked and posted with a big sign saying they were for customers only. If you need to use one you have to ask the cashier for the key or, in some cases, have them "buzz" you in. I suppose it's due to the surprisingly large number of homeless people downtown. The SD Greyhound and Amtrak stations keep tight control of their toilets, too. Greyhound has a control point just past the ticket counter with a sign reading "ticketed passengers ONLY past this point". And of course, the toilets are past that point! Bummer. As bad as SD is, I still think Bourbon Street in New Orleans is the toughest place to find a public toilet. "Customers ONLY" signs abound in the bars and the waitresses are on you like Oprah on a baked ham as soon as you walk in the joints. They definitely don't want people coming in just to use the facilities. |

Ted, someone sent it to me, so I was just passing it on -- frankly, it never would have occurred to me to go looking for something like that! If you are not yet one of "our fully retired board members" then once you graduate to that lofty position I bet you too will find yourself asking what so many of us do: "How did I ever find the time to WORK?" |

There's an app for that (if you have an iPhone or iPod touch) on the App Store. Named (same) Sit or Squat. And , it's free! Sponsored by, who else, Charmin! Thanks, Cherry! Sometimes I wonder just how much time our fully retired board members have to look up things like that? ;-) Ted_M |

Cherry, Gee, I thought that was what the Golden Arches were for. Never been in a Mickey D's anywhere OCONUS with a dysfunctional flush. |

Here's a website where travelers can find the nearest public toilet/restroom, and add others that they know about: http://www.sitorsquat.com/sitorsquat/home/map This could be a lifesaver! |
