Don, It's not far from NAS Norfolk to the commercial airport. Maybe a 10 minute taxi ride. I would be glad to pick you up and take you. I live literally 3 minutes from the airport. Shoot me an e-mail if you make it to NAS Norfolk. Good luck! Anne |

Don, That's great. I didn't know they had flight connections from Bangor to Norfolk. Now just hope that ash cloud cooperates and you are able to get off the British Isle. |

Elaine, I checked on flights from Bangor to Norfolk, and the price isn't to much more than Southwest. Have several different airlines that fly down. I think the price would work about the same if I figure in getting from Bangor to Boston. All depends on the old volcano. |

Norfolk has on base transportation. They could probably take you around to the commercial side of the airport. When we were there a few weeks ago, they were taking a family over to the other side of the flight line to catch one of the smaller jets. Best of luck to you to get home asap. Carole |

Don, Yes from Bangor to Norfolk would be pretty difficult by train. You would have to be bussed from Bangor to Portland or Boston, then probably change trains a few times before getting to Norfolk, and it would be time consuming. If you could get to Boston, you could take Southwest Airlines to Norfolk pretty reasonably. |

The 101 ARW website says they are located at the Bangor International Airport. http://www.101arw.ang.af.mil/index.asp |

I would say Amtrack out of Bangor, but I can't seem to get their website to work as far as getting a price/schedule for a trip out of Bangor even though there is a station there. |

Ok, now I have found out I can get a plane from Bangor to Norfolk, anyone know about the logistics getting from where a space a bird might land to the airport? I am assuming of course it might be across the runway. Thanks Jill, but really want to get to Norfolk. |

Bangor Maine, Okay I know where it is, but does anyone have any idea how to get out of there to Va? I did check JD FAQ but only phone numbers. Did check a cheap flight from Bangor to Boston, they think £300 is cheap???? I can fly from the UK for 400. Hate to head for Fairchild, (no offense John G.) but the idea is to get to the East Coast. |
