The files might not be labeled CONUS and OCONUS but they only have two folders. Sign ups for CONUS travel goes in one folder and OCONUS goes in the other. You can specify a certain destination but if you just put ALL they don't know which folder to put the request in.

Martha: The pax rep I spoke with did say that I could include CONUS/OCONUS in addition to ALL in my FAX sign-up, but didn't indicate that they maintained files so named. In either event, this would simply things considerably--especially if it became a universal SOP.

I was told Fort Worth had two files, CONUS and OCONUS and just to put CONUS for travel within the US and OCONUS for overseas travel. Haven't tried it yet. The system could change as personnel change.

Although better than no electronic options at all, I've often wondered why terminals that hold to the FAX-only signup procedure haven't made the move go online therewith. Also, having heard accounts of lost/unreceived FAX sign-ups, it occurred to me that these mysterious disappearances might be due to nonstandard filing practices. The latter matter was recently raised with a passenger rep at JRB Fort Worth and, to my surprise, I was told that they filed their incoming FAXs "by destination!" I said that the only destination I could remember putting down was "All," and asked if she could find my signup thereunder. It came as no surprise that it couldn't be found in the "All" or in several other destination folders. When my sign-up was finally located, I suggested that an alphabetical-by-last name FAX filing system might be more logical/intuitive. By the expression on her face I could tell that she was was clearly of the NIH (not invented here) persuasion. Alas, yet more evidence of the lack of retiree credibility!
