Martha, the Hofbrauhaus is a concession in the KMCC and serves large portion of wursts. The Deutsches Haus is the one you referred to as being by bldg. 305, the former lodging office. It's open for all three meals. The Deutsches Kantine, bldg. 2400, is on the north base and opens, I believe, at 0300 for breakfast. It closes at 1700. It's not open Saturday or Sunday. |

If you ever stay at Kelly Barracks near Stuttgart, they also have a German kantina on the second floor over a small theater located about 50 yards from the Gymnasium. Its open for the workers at lunchtime.Everyone is welcome to buy good food.Kelly also has a small PX and Commissary.Good location for stay if visiting Stuttgart(When they are not having MILEX on post)....Short walk to SBahn-takes you downtown.Gutten Appetite.... |

There is a German restaurant in the KMCC that is also very good and a German cantina behind the old South billetting office. Don't believe the cantina is open at night. |

We really enjoyed it, too. Met some US airmen there and they recommended the British one, also. It's up the block. |

Gary, in a few minutes my wife and I are walking over there for dinner. We're staying in the building behind. |

I recently returned from a 3 week backpacking trip across Europe. By far the best food found on this trip was at the Deutsches Haus restaurant on Ramstein AB. It is ran by the German army and very inexpensive. Fantastic schnitzel and spatzle plus the beer was cold. In building 544 on north side of base, near the library. |
