Thanks to everyone, I found them! I used 801-595-6438 to get to a person at the Air National Guard. After a few moments of Air Force CP talk I was able to convince her to give me the number to the Command Post Watch Floor (801-245-2416). Talked to a SSGT there that said the flight landed and that they were taken to the commercial air port. I then called the Salt Lake City International air port and found the paging service (1-800-595-2442 opt2). She was not there. I called the Command Post back and a TSGT patched me through to Transportation where I was able to talk to the duty driver that took a "blond haired woman with two beautiful, and very excited children, to the Holiday Inn". I was told that the "blond lady said take me to the first hotel with an indoor pool". Long story short they are safe and happy. Thanks to everyone for helping me out!

Very Respectfully,

Jason Abernathy

Military flights transiting SLC airport usually use the Executive terminal on the East side of the airport facility. The UT ANG also has a compound on the East side too, but if the plane isn't one of their tankers (KC135), they will probably use the executive ramp. The fixed base operator there is Salt Lake Jet Center, ph 801-595-6438. The ANG ops desk is 801-245-2259 or 2274.

Jason,
Hill AFB is about 20 miles North of Salt Lake City. If they actually land at SLC airport, it's just a simple cab ride over to the comm'l side for a flight. If they land up at Hill, I'd check on a oneway rental car from Enterprise or Hertz, the rental location is either Hill AFB or Layton, UT. It is possible to take TRACs the light rail from Layton down to SLC then transfer to a bus out to the airport. You can find all the national hotel chains all over the area, everything from Motel 6 to the Hilton, take your choice.
Hill will have TLF type billets for your family but it's not near the airport.
Good Luck

Good one Rob. I was going to call you and tell you that I got a hold of the PAX in Hill and they said she is flying into the Air National Guard, which shares the runway with Salt Lake City Int. I got a comm. # but I can't get it to ring.

Jason,
I would rent a car on base or taxi to the airport at Salt Lake City from Hill AFB. Use lodging on base for one night, drive to the airport to drop off car there.
Did you check out John D's space a pages for info about Hill AFB?

Wife and kids caught MAC Flight from Sigonella to Norfolk. Plane broke down in Lajes so she jumped on KC-10 to Salt Lake City (assuming Hill AFB). Need recommendations on hotel and travel to Salt Lake City International Airport so they can get home to Indiana. Thank you.
