Gracias Amigo Jaime, Got your email message and definitely will be contacting you later. There's another retired board member who was also accepted for the Nov.5-12th session, but for Jaen, not La Alberca. Jim, thanks for writing. Happy travels! |

Jim, Applied about 6 days ago and just got my approval notice from "Pueblo Ingles" for La Alberca in Salamanca, the week of 11/5 - 11/12th. My first choice was for the area of Jaen, but they approved me for La Alberca, my second choice. Now I've to decide if to take it or not and let them know soon. I will be contacting you soon to ask for some tips. Happy travels! Ha |

Jim, Very nice report. I will be writing you and asking some specific questions that have come to my mind about "Pueblo Inglés". As I had mentioned to you before, I'm thinking about applying for the last session in October or the first in November. Thanks and for the report, and Happy travels! |

Well, since my November visit to P/I, I had wanted to get the wife to go there with me. And since we were on the Celebrity EQUINOX repositioning cruise ending in Rome, it was a perfect time. She agreed, and we had a ball! Did the "common" train from Cittavecchia (sp?) to downtown Rome's Termini, and then the Metro to a very good B&B a few stops past the Spanish Steps. There for a couple of days and then commercial to Madrid. Also in a good B&B for two nights before jumping on the Friday morning bus to La Alberca. Having been to the course once before, I was able to watch the reactions of those attending for the first time. I won't give away any of the "secrets", other than to say the week is a fun experience, and I had just as much fun this time as I had before. Departed a couple of hours early on Friday and picked up a one-way rental in Salamanca. The drive to Rota was lovely, and the room we had reserved on base was waiting. A ferria in Porta, a bodega crawl in San Lucar, and a ferry ride after droping the car in Cadiz led up to us getting on a C-5 to McGuire, a commercial to Chicago and then a bus home. All in all, a very good trip! If you haven't done Pueblo Ingles, give it some thought. I think it is a hoot! Jim Bagley |
