Nicole, Just "saw" you on the General Space-a forum! Tom is right, your best bet is to call. Mr.Conolley is the person you should probably talk to at Mugu. He is very helpful. They are not an AMC terminal, and are very laid back with space-a travellers. I don't think you will have any trouble reboarding in the event you are delayed there. Good luck ! Remember that this board switches over to the new board on Friday. Make sure you are registered on the new board so you can continue to have access to the wisdom of Dirk's board.

ND - If you are worried about what "Point Mugu" will do - call them and ask. The counter's DSN number is: 351-7026/7731 and their commercial number is: 805-989-7026/7731. Point Mugu is a SMALL operation so who ever you speak to will be the person making the decision. Don't forget they are on Pacific Time and you are hard pressed to reach them before 7:30 am and after 10:30 a.m.

It isn't about getting stuck. I know that can happen. I am just more worried about having to de-board and then they say I can't fly CONUS because my husband is not with us. But, if my EML letter trumps the CONUS space a rule, then I am fine. :-)

ND,
If the plane should have mechanical problems, you would be stuck where ever that might be. I think you might be over analyzing the situation. How do you even know you will get on a certain flight bound for Dallas?

LOL! Yes, but I live in Japan, so I can get around and get back home if I got stuck here.

Yes, I am aware of the restriction, but if we are coming from overseas with EML does that trump the CONUS rule? I think it would be different if we were going straight from Japan to the destination, but we have to stop 2 times! I am just concerned that they will enforce that and then we are stuck in Po-dunk, USA.

Carole,

Per his/her previous posts he/she is unaccompanied EML which would mean Cat-IV (that's why she's concerned about "manifesting through" on the mission because she's probably aware of the CONUS restriction)

N D,
What is your travel category, Cat IV or Cat V? Have you read Jphn D's space a pages at the top of this page to know the rules for your category? Are you only going to need 1 seat or are you traveling with children?

One other question. Does having my EML letter (OCONUS) trump the rule of not being able to fly CONUS without the AD member flying with you? I am nervous about getting off at the two "Stateside" stops and I am then CONUS w/out my hubby (because he is deployed) and they tell me that I can't go on. That is probably far fetched, but I am curious if they can do that?!?

If you are "manifested through" to Dallas on the same mission then you shouldn't need to register at Pt Mugu.

I did check that site, but sometimes rules are different for OCONUS to CONUS because we will not be traveling with our AD spouses.

Also, I signed up last night but for about a minute after I would sign in, it would make this absolutely horrid beep. I do not know what that is about but it did it so bad when I signed out that I had to turn my speakers way down.

Going to try to get on a Space A from Japan that will end in Dallas but makes a stop at Pt. Mugu. Does anyone have any information to where I can send my EML letter? Also, if I ask to be manifested through will I still have to sign up at Pt. Mugu?
Thank you in advance!
