"underscores why a SPAT should travel as light as possible."

Good advice, of course. But based on my experience there, the Sing MRT is one of the easier systems to use when dragging bags. All the stations have a handycapped elevator for getting up on the platforms, and there's no step up or down when boarding the train. Usually ample room in the area around the cars' sliding doors for your bags, too.

Taking mass transit in Singapore is a breeze and as noted a lot less expensive than a taxi. To travel on the train with transfers underscores why a SPAT should travel as light as possible.

The MRT station nearest Paya Labar Air Force Base is Eunos, on the green line. JC

When I came thru Sing in Dec, I had to take a taxi from Paya Labar to Changi, $24-30 Sing. I knew there was a better way, so I checked it out when I came back yesterday. You can get from Changi to PL by MRT. You pay 2.30 Sing ($1 refundable)and the train only goes in one direction. You have to switch trains once to get on the main line. You get off at the stop PRIOR TO Paya Labar, (stop starts with an E) and take bus 94 outside the station ($1 Sing for seniors), and get off right outside the gate of PL Air Base. Its a 5 minute walk to the AMC pax terminal.
