Keep in mind the Hale Koa charges $7 or $8 a day parking, and the bus will take you most places on the island for $2.25 ($1 with Medicare card). |

Dollar has a desk at Hale Koa with car pick up a short walk. But right next door at Hilton, Hertz, Avis and Budget have rental desks with pick up on the premises. Best $$ deal is still at the airport -- we always use Thrifty. |

Barbara, There are a lot of "ma and pa" car, jeepney, and motorbike rental places along the streets in downtown Honolulu, an easy walk from the Hale Koa. If you don't make an advance reservation, you won't have a problem in Hawaii. |

Does anyone know what car rental agency works out of the Hale Koa? We'd like to reserve a car there for a couple of days before we arrive, but the HK website doesn't give much information. |
