In October, we took the ferry to Cadiz from Rota to rent from Doyouspain. Actually, they had two agencies in Cadiz that were walkable from the ferry. We had excellent service including a one way rental to Malaga. I would use them again. Only problem is they made me pay 100 Euros for insurance, even thought I did not need it with the provision that they would refund it when I returned the car. I was extra careful and they prompty returned the 100 Euros. |

Mike, I think most of us are just waiting to see what the outcome is. I've never used them, so can hardly threaten to withhold business. But I hope you are successful, we all want more options, particularly those that have a proven track record. |

Other than Don and Tony, no one else seems interested in this topic including doyouspain.com as I haven't heard from them. (...nor I suspect, they from some of you, the potential beneficiaries.) |

Mike, That's an exellent gesture from your part. I'm not even sure if they still operate out of Cádiz, and I think their service is a "must" in the area. Thanks for taking interest in this matter and letting everyone know about it. Happy travels! |

Mike, I did use doyouspain in the past with a rental from Jerez to Rota. Now the Rota place has closed I had to use another company. I returned it back to Jerez the last time, but if I want to fly out of Rota, then the nearest is at Cadiz I understand. Getting somewhere in Rota would sure be good if they will. |

I just sent the following to www.doyouspain.com by means of the form on their web site. Those of you who may stand to benefit from their services may wish to echo my message to add to its impact. -------------------------- I am a satisfied prior client and expect to use your service again this summer. This comment is about a different matter. Each year several hundred active duty and retired U.S. military personnel travel to Spain as tourists aboard U.S. military aircraft landing at the Base Naval de Rota, Cadiz. In the past they were able to rent autos in the town of Rota through your services. It seems this is no longer possible. I suggest that you: a) Establish a relationship with a rental company in Rota and, b) Publicize your business on www.pepperd.com, an Internet forum used by many of the travelers in question. I have no personal interest in this matter as I fly commercially to Madrid. I expect to be renting an auto from you for the month of July with pickup in Zaragosa and drop-off in Santiago. I would be pleased to answer any questions you may have about my suggestion. Mike Spengel www.eagertraveler.org/swap.htm |
