The 'coaches' in Britain are comfortable and normally run on time. Many depart from a big bus terminal at Heathrow and of course make local stops along the way. However, be aware that on long trips they may take up to twice as long as the train (which also has some discount offers, and gives deep discounts if you buy your point-to-point tickets in advance -- we usually allow a few days of local touring whether in the Mildenhall area or in London, before starting out on rail travel around Britain, and at the beginning of those few days we hotfoot it to the nearest full service rail station to buy all the tickets in advance, having studied schedules on the rail website at http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/) |
