I would think week-end, in the spring and summer would be hard to get a car on base. Lots of plces for the folks stationed there to go for a week-end away. |

It seemed to me last year that McGuire's Hertz agency was inundated with soldiers renting a car for the weekend. |

We got into McGuire a couple weeks ago. The Hertz place on base told me they didn't have any cars available that were running, but would have one for me the next morning. No rooms on base, so took a taxi from the terminal to Days Inn just off base. Used Angel Taxi's. Guess I should have asked how much before we got in. Had a niggling idea it would be more than I thought, when I asked how much to go to Norfolk. $600.00. It cost us $20.00 to get off base to the nearest motel.
It is more than a quick walk, so guess since it was raining, and we had a couple bags, it was worth it for 2 people. Next morning a kind soul gave us a lift to the Hertz place on base. He now knows about Pepperd.com, plus has a package of English biscuits. |

On the times I have been at McGuire, the hertz rent a car agency is open on Sundays. They have a lot of business on Sundays from the soldiers station in the area. I have turned in and rented a car from them on a Sunday. Happy Travels. |

Yeah, McGuire is not the easiest place to rent a car at especially on a weekend or Holiday! According to the bus schedule they should be running on the Sunday schedule. The only other option may be one of the approved taxis/limos allowed on base - you may want to call them in advance to get a quote. |

However, rental car agency on base may not be open on Easter Sunday. Maybe the bus outside the gate if you're up to it & don't have a lot of luggage. Or else stay in billetting for 1 day & rent a car the next day. |

Recommend you check out the info for public transportation at the spacea.net McGuire AFB Wiki Page. For 5 folks I'd go get myself a rental car and come back and get the family and luggage! |

We fly into McGuire on Easter and need tansportation to a Philadelphia suburb (family of 5... home is ~36 miles away). Our car is at Dover. Any recommendations on possibilities? |
