The free bus from Heathrow is definately the best and cheapest way for you to get to Mildenhall. The cost of the tube pass to Heathrow would be less than half what a bus ticket from London to Mildenhall, plus you have to take a taxi from the village to the base. I have ridden the free bus more times than I could remember, and I will for sure ride it again as long as it it available. |

Larry, if the departure time is convenient for you then I would take the free base shuttle which will land you right on the base at Mildenhall. All you have to pay for is the tube fare out to Heathrow vice commercial bus to Mildenhall Village and cab fare to the base. I've used National Express once before and would not hesitate using them again as they were an excellent mover and easy to use. You can buy your ticket from one of the vending machines at the Victoria Coach Station at Buckingham Palace Road & Elizabeth St. across the street from Victoria RR station. I don't know if it's applicable in your case but there is a senior citizen rate. |

Larry, you are thinking of Nelly. I'm USAF retired. Depends on how you want to travel. It will cost you to get to Heathrow from London one way or the other. To get to Mildenhall base, from Mildenhall Village, it is about 2-3 miles, taxi will cost around 10 pounds, maybe less during the day. There will be a bus from Mildenhall village to the base. Ask at the info desk if it is open. You will want to go to Beck Row, to the Smoke House Inn roundabout. Get off there, and walk to the gate pass the Bird in Hand Pub. Less than a 1/4 mile. |

Larry, Mildenhall Village to the base is about 3-4 miles. The schedule for the Space-A shuttle to London Airports is available on the Mildenhall Wiki Page. Info on the commercial coach to Mildenhall (as Don said) can be obtained from www.nationalexpress.com |

Larry, There is a free bus shuttle for the approximate 2-hour ride to Mildenhall from terminal 3 Arrivals Hall departing, I believe, at 1000 and 1230. You must have a valid DOD ID card to ride. Allow generous time to find out exactly where the bus is parked as it's a big place. |

Larry, two buses from Heathrow to Mildenhall, FREE. Times are posted on Mildenhall site linked from John D. Or you can get a national Express bus from London to Mildenhall Village. Shouldn't be to expensive. |

Starting to plan my Russia Cruise and need to come home by way of Mildenhall. It will be in Sept. 2010 and my wife comes home on air miles. But I will be on my own. We plan on staying in London for a week and I'm lost on how to get from London to Mildehall. It has been many years since I have Space A out of England. So any help that you can give will be appreciated. I want to end up on the West Coast. (So. Calif.) Thanks, Larry |
