Just to answer my own question, the westover metropolitan airport only shows Hertz as available. But then the Hertz site says that they don't have cars there, that they need to be brought in.
A couple of years ago, there were 3 or 4 on-site car rental companies at the airport. That was before the charter airline that flew in there went bankrupt. |

From Westover ARB to Avis in Springfield one Sunday in November past was about $30. It is located in a Holiday Inn in Springfield. |

It sounds like you went to the Hartford Airport. Was the Chikopee (sp?) airport next door to the airbase without any open car rental places?? |

~$35, them on to D.C. (dropped at terminal door total 5hrs.)cheap no? |
