If he paid $10 for ten miles, we already have a taxi war. |

The same man who paid $30 to George used a second service to get back here today and they charged him $10.00. I will not post the name here, don't want to start a taxi war. I just think folks should ask the price before they get in the cab. Like I said we will use the hotel that has the free shuttle. |

From time to time we review the pepper d sites plus our many satisfied customers notify us when someone posts comments about us. We are the owner's of George's Taxi and Limo Service of Dover, Delaware and this helps us better serve our Active Duty and Retired Military Customers. Our Taxi's use certified sealed Taxi Meters and our rates are governed by the Delaware Department of Transportation. We are the only transportation Company in Dover that is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and we are monthly contributors of the Dover USO. Dover is not a "big City" but I can guarantee you that we are paying the same high rates for Insurance and Gasoline just like the big boys. We don't get a discount on our cost of operations. We are the busiest Carrier out of the DAFB and our business has consistently grown for the past three years. George and Jodi Glew We have to charge a certain fee in order to stay in Business and provide a high level of service to our Customers. We also do not charge our Customers for Tolls. |

Thanks Phyllis, Without knowing what the normal rate for a 10-mile journey "should be" hen it's kind of hard to determine if the $30 charged was a out of the ordinary (or not). |

I don’t know why I want to be in the middle of this, but just a quick comment before everybody gets all riled up over it. George charges a flat rate meter fee of $3.30 per mile. Phyllis, the person failed to tell you what the charge was on the meter. For ten miles the fee should have been $33.00. He does not charge anything extra for additional passengers or luggage. I’ve used his taxi before and was very happy with his service. I just spent a week in Paris and we were not at all happy at how much they charged us for “additional people, luggage, or what they called a reservation fee” (if the hotel calls them for you). They always gave us some reason to add extra on top of the meter. Sometimes it reminds us how good we have it here. Phyllis, we hope to see you and Jim in Sicily. Happy travels. |

Thanks John. I don't know what the rate should be, this is Dover, not the big city. We couldn't get a room at Eagles Rest tonigh, so we are in the Sherton, govt. rate $89 a night and "FREE" shuttle service from door to door. |

Phyllis, The thread you're referring to is at this thread. What should the rate be for a 10-mile journey (assuming normal traffic)? |

I just talked to a person who used George's to go and from his hotel here in Dover. It was just under 10 miles and the charge was $30 each way. I told him I remember somone else having that problem too. |
