On the ground at McGuire

The young lady driving the van for us at nearly midnight would not accept a tip or even a cup of coffee. The phone number to call for the lodging van is prominently posted in the terminal. The base shuttle is NOT 24 hours - service runs 0700-2200. A great deal and wonderful benefit any way you slice it. It can really be cold there in the winter and hot in the summer so this is a tremendous benefit. I know it has to be costly for the base so I really do appreciate its availability. All Amercia Inn has a 24 hour free shuttle to/from PAX terminal. Base has a free shuttle (runs every 20 min, 0630-2200) making all favorite stops on both McGuire and Ft Dix. Best on-base transportation I've seen on any base, anywhere. McGuire's PAX teminal puts most others (inlduing Travis and Hickam) to shame, also. Huge USO, many amenities, family room, computer lounge, DV lounges with sleeping areas, etc, etc. Very impressed.
