With that much baggage, you can forget Ryanair. They have a checked bag limit of 15kg/passenger (about 32 pounds) max! That's not per bag either. Anything over 32 pounds costs big big bucks! The only space-a option from US East coast to England is the sometimes once weekly tanker from MacDill (Tampa, FL) to Mildenhall. McGuire AFB, NJ occasionally has a cargo flight to England but nothing regular. If you are in a hurry, you had better start looking for cheapest one-way comm'l flight you can find from East coast to London Heathrow, and jump on the free daily bus from Heathrow to Lakenheath. |

Anyone know if there is a train or bus service? Something reliable and safe? I'll be traveling with a four year old and 5 bags total. # big suitcases, and two carryons. |

Ryan Air runs often inexpensive flights to England from all over Europe. Check their air routes. Some flights as cheap as two Euros BUT there may be taxes, baggage fees, etc. that make it a bit more costly. |

On my last two trips to England (Nov and Jan) we were able to catch a flight to England from Ramstein the day after we arrive in Germany and both were on regular flights, not small jets. Happy Travels. |

One way (check with local Base rentals, could be done 2 yrs ago) rental car to Frankfurt Hahn Airport. Ryan Air from Frankfurt Hahn to London Stansted; then National Express Bus to Mildenhall Village. Local Cab to Air Base. Most flights from Ramstein to Mildenhall are small jets with 30# limit. May have to wait a few days for this. National Express: http://www.nationalexpress.com/coach/index.cfm |

"Fastest" is probably Ryanair from Frankfurt/Hahn. |
