Jack, If you are going to Frankfurt am Main, then your best bet is the free shuttle from the Ramstein pax terminal each weekday at 10 AM. Otherwise, there is 1-way car rental, taxi -- obviously more expensive, and train from Landstuhl. If you are going to Frankfurt Hahn, there is no longer a direct commercial bus -- you can use the search function on this page for prior posts on your alternatives: expensive ones like car rental and taxi, or less expensive and much slower like train-bus combinations or the free shuttle bus to Frankfurt Main and the one-an-hour commercial bus to Frankfurt Hahn |

Im taking a Space A flight into Ramstein and will be continuing my travel on a flight out of Frankfurt. About how far is the base from the airport and what is the best mode of getting their (i.e. taxi, rental car, or train). Thanks in advance for any recommendations. |

John, check the Ramstein page at www.spacea.net for info on how to get from Ramstein to Hahn. p.s. This message board will stop accepting new posts and replies the end of this week. It would behoove you (and others) to start using the new forum. You'll need to create a new account at http://www.pepperd.com/vb/forum.php |

The Mon-Fri daily shuttle to Frankfurt Main is a free military shuttle. The former commercial German bus from Ramstein village (nr A6 Autobahn) was not free, and was not connected to the military. This is the service that no longer happens. The only practical way to get from Ramstein AB to Frankfurt-Hahn is by Taxi, Airport limo/shuttle, or one-way car rental |

Hi Linda. Is Frankfurt IAP the same as Frankfurt-Hahn? If they are different, do you know if there is a similar shuttle to Frankfurt-Hahn where I understand Ryan Air flies from to Stansted in UK? |

The shuttle leaves Mon thru Fri. at 10 AM from the parking lot in front of the Ramstein terminal. As far as I know, the is no sign-up sheet. And it is free!! |
