The bus no longer runs, nor does the direct bus to Saarbrucken. However the Hahn Airport web site has good directions to the DB site. You could get to Landstuhl by bus-train via Saarbrucken for about 27E. Takes about 2.5h |

BTW: The carry=on is 10Kg AND must fit within the metal "cage". They measure at security...violation of either will get you turned back and returned to the "Baggage Desk". Laptopss and purses must now be contained in the carry-on. Happy travels, John |

Sorry for mis-info re Ryan air bags. Ms. DeLaRosa is correct: 15kg check, 10kg carry. |

The Ramstein-Hahn bus was not running in Mar. It is an easy 1hr 15min drive and the usual rental car agencies are at Hahn. You could get there by train or bus to Frankfurt, and the hourly bus to Hahn which leaves from the Hbahnhof. It costs 12E. |

Unless they have radically changed their enforcement, you can carry on a reasonably sized purse or small backpack. We abuse ourselves regularly with Ryanair, which is not as bad as they themselves advertise it to be! It is SWA with a grimace, not a grin. The 10kg limit is real, and I am not surprised that they are weighing bags. In Feb it was 15kg, and we packed carefully to stay below it. |

If flying with Ryan air be advised that their carry-on limit is one bag that can weigh no more than 22 pounds. They do not allow one personal carry on (purse, computer bag) besides the 22 LBS. The checked baggage can only weigh 33 LBS. They have begun to pull people going through security and weighing their carry-ons and requiring them to be checked if they are found to be more than the 22 LBS. |

Jeff, Check the respective Spacea.net pages for Ramstein and Spangdahlem for transportation options. There are commercial services between the two locations and some info on getting to Han from Ramstein. |

They used to have a bus from Ramstein AB to the airport Frankfurt-Hahn. I believe it has been discontinued fairly recently. |

If catching a flight into one of the main air bases in Germany, does anyone know how far it is to Hahn, Germany? Does Ramstein or Spang have buses that run there daily? I've seen where Ryanair has many flights out of Hahn that connect all over Europe for really good prices. Thanks. |
